Flowhaven CEO/ founder Kalle Törmä has earned one of LIMA’s highly coveted Rising Star Awards.
Helsinki, Finland, April 17, 2019 –30-year-old Flowhaven chief executive officer and founder Kalle Törmä has been named one of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association’s 2019 Rising Stars, becoming one of the first individuals from Europe (excluding the U.K.) and one of the first 50 people to receive the honor.
LIMA is the leading trade organization for the global licensing industry. With a mission to support the growth and expansion of licensing around the globe, it raises the level of professionalism for licensing practitioners and creates greater awareness of the benefits of licensing to the business community at large. The Rising Stars Award recognizes the next generation of leaders in the licensing business and is one of the most prestigious recognitions offered to young professionals in the licensing industry.
Törmä is one of eight winners selected from a large pool of talented candidates, and his award marks many firsts. He represents the youngest company and first software service vendor ever to be listed and is the first CEO/ Founder to win the award. Törmä also stands out as one of the first winners to reside outside of the U.S., U.K. or APAC and the first Scandinavian to win the award.
Törmä began working in licensing as a licensing trainee at Rovio Entertainment at the age of 22. He quickly grew within the company and was instrumental in licensing sales, brand management and improving the company’s overall operations and systems. In 2016, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur which led him to found Flowhaven, a software company specializing in end-to-end solutions for licensing professionals.
Törmä has worked to create software, events and other solutions for the brand licensing communities around the globe. In the last two years, he has worked tirelessly to expand LIMA’s presence in the Nordics and is credited as a unifying force among the region’s licensing professionals.
He has also helped to support and modernize the industry through Flowhaven. The company has built an impressive client roster which includes Rovio, Timbuktu Labs, Bonnier, Finlayson, and more and has grown its team to 20+ employees with offices in Helsinki and Los Angeles.
Törmä will receive his rising star award at the International Licensing Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 4 during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.
