What Dreamforce 2019 Taught Flowhaven About Changing The World

In a bustling, tech-centered city like San Francisco, few events have the ability to bring the city to a screeching halt. Dreamforce, Salesforce’s marquee event did just that, attracting world leaders, award-winning performers and tech innovators to the “The Golden City” for four days of inspirational lectures, events and live performances aimed at trailblazing professionals.

As a proud Salesforce partner, and the only brand licensing software built on the world-renowned customer relationship management platform, attending Dreamforce was especially exciting for the Flowhaven team. The event, which many describe as a “big family reunion,” reinforced the importance of nurturing relationships with colleagues and customers through modern technology to ensure successful outcomes.

Below, our three takeaways from Dreamforce 2019.

Inclusivity is Shaping the Modern Workplace

Dreamforce invited a host of speakers who are celebrated, not only for their outstanding work as business leaders, but as individuals who have broken glass ceilings and reshaped the make-up of the C-suite. Adtalem Global Education Lisa Wardell, chairman and CEO, Leatherberry to Oscar Munoz, CEO, United Airlines and former U.S. president Barack Obama, panelists reaffirmed the need for mentorship and sponsorship to ensure that people of all backgrounds have a chance to thrive in the workplace.

Many of the speakers reinforced the important role advanced technology is playing in evening the playing field. “If you don’t do the right things in terms of values, you don’t attain financial results,” said Marco Bizzarri, CEO, Gucci when asked how he shifted his company culture by bringing in new voices, adding diversity, and putting an emphasis on self-expression. Many emphasized that leaders should be using modern tools to identify who is being left out and find ways to invite them in.

Communication Technology is Connecting the World

Each year, one form of technology sends a ripple of excitement through Dreamforce. This year, that technology was 5G. Recognizable to some as a symbol on their cell phone screen, the advanced cellular network technology is making digital communication to remote communities around the world for the first time.

Casper Klynge, tech ambassador, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked audience members at his panel to consider new ways of cooperating and new alliances to use 5G and other communication technologies to become more interconnected. For us, the message highlighted the importance of connectivity and the future of communication in the brand licensing industry. As companies look for new markets to debut products and introduce brands, the need for efficient methods for communicating with licensing partners in all territories and accessing data on customers, no matter where they live, is becoming essential to bottom lines.

AI is Improving Internal Productivity and Customer Success

The Dreamforce keynote acknowledged an unspoken truth: some companies are still skeptical about the benefits of implementing artificial/machine intelligence to transform their operations. Others simply don’t know how to get started. Members of Salesforces’ Einstein AI discussed the far-reaching and human-centered benefits of the Salesforce platform, which includes 360-degree operations overviews and other features that work to put customers first.
